University of Wrocław dormitories

The University of Wrocław has five student dormitories:

• Dwudziestolatka
• Kredka
• Ołówek
• Parawanowiec
• Słowianka

All of them are located in or near the Grunwaldzki Square (Plac Grunwaldzki) university area, with convenient public transport connections to other parts of Wrocław. The dormitories offer mainly single and double rooms; Dwudziestolatka also offers triple rooms. Internet access is available in all student residences.

The University has approximately 2,000 dormitory places in total. Please remember that the number of places is limited and requesting university accommodation does not guarantee that a room will be allocated. Students who are not offered a place in a University of Wrocław dormitory should therefore also consider alternative accommodation options.

How do I apply?

First-year international students

If you are an incoming first-year international degree student, please follow the accommodation information provided during the admission process. Please note that expressing interest in accommodation during recruitment does not automatically constitute a confirmed reservation.

Questions concerning reservations and the allocation of places in University of Wrocław dormitories should be addressed directly to the Student Services Department: dormitories@uwr.edu.pl

If you receive confirmation of a place, detailed information concerning check-in and your assigned dormitory will be provided separately.

What if I do not receive a place in a UWr dormitory?

Do not wait until your arrival in Wrocław to start looking for alternatives. The rental market is particularly busy before the beginning of the academic year, especially in August, September and October. There are several options worth considering:

• Student Depot Wrocław – a private student residence; you can contact them at wroclaw@studentdepot.pl.
• Pepe Housing – private accommodation for students in Wrocław.
• Dormitories of Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences (UPWr).
• Dormitories of Wrocław University of Economics and Business (UEW).
• private student residences such as Milestone or BaseCamp
• OLX.pl
• Facebook groups such as “Wrocław – pokoje wynajem,” “Wrocław – do wynajęcia,” “Mieszkania i pokoje do wynajęcia Wrocław,” or “WROCŁAW NA WYNAJEM – mieszkania, pokoje.”

Before signing a private rental agreement

When renting a room or apartment privately:

• check the total monthly cost, including utilities and administrative fees;
• check the amount and conditions for returning the deposit;
• confirm the exact rental period and notice period;
• make sure you receive a written rental agreement;
• verify the landlord or accommodation provider before transferring money;
• be cautious if someone asks for a large payment before providing a contract or allowing you to verify the property.

The Faculty of Biological Sciences does not act as a party to private rental agreements and cannot guarantee accommodation offered by external providers.
