ERASMUS + Incoming mobility

The Faculty of Biological Sciences offers the opportunity to realize a part of the studies or a research project for the exchange students at the bachelor, master’s and doctoral level. In addition, the academic teachers from partner universities interested in a teaching visit at the Faculty of Biological Sciences are welcome. Exchange students usually spend a semester or two at our Faculty, whereas the incoming academic teachers usually work at our Faculty during a period of at least two days (minimum 8 hours altogether). Financial support/Erasmus grant for this type of visit is covered by the partner University, for more details please contact the Erasmus Coordinator at your University. For the exchange to be possible, the partner University should hold the appropriate Erasmus bilateral agreement with the Faculty of Biological Sciences.

Course types

The types of courses offered by the Faculty of Biological Sciences:

Lectures – the oral presentations of theoretical knowledge that are credited with a written exam at the end of the semester.
Seminars – the courses assessed based on the student activity including the active course participation, the presentations, and the student attendance. During seminars, students have the opportunity to think, analyze, discuss, and address real scientific problems.
Laboratories – the coursesproviding students with asafe, hands-on practice in experimental biology. During the lab courses students have the opportunity to explore the methods used by scientists in their scientific research.
Field courses – the courses designed to provide students a firsthand experience in the field environments in order to understand the ecological and evolutionary processes.
Practices – the courses designed to provide students a firsthand experience in the identification, comparison and description of biological material or fossils.
Research projects – realized upon individual agreement of a supervisor from our Faculty.

Grades are awarded within a five-digit grading system ranging from 1 to 5.

The consultation hours of each academic teacher are available in the USOS system.

How to register for courses

University of Wroclaw uses the University Study-Oriented System (called USOS) to manage information for students. It is a typical software information system supporting management of higher education at different Polish Universities. The functionality of USOS refers to course catalog, course registration, class schedules, student and teacher personal data and contact information or study programs. When accepted for studies at Wroclaw University, every student is signed up to USOS system. To join the particular course, every student must be registered in the student group created in the USOS system. As an exchange student you do have to contact an Erasmus+ Coordinator at the Faculty running the course and ask him/her to register you in the USOS system.

Completion of a semester study

The completion of a semester of study shall be certified. A student shall be required to print the records from the USOS website and bring them to the Faculty Erasmus+ Coordinator to get a sign and a stamp. Student can also go to the Dean office to print the USOS record, and then provide it to the Faculty Erasmus+ Coordinator.
